Mito Hollyhock have been in J-League 2 for the last decade without really being in danger of doing anything other than finish somewhere around the middle to lower half of the table.
They are known mainly for being a really defensively minded team, a reputation which may be helping them to average one of the lowest attendances despite being one of themore established teams.
Despite having an odd name it is at least relevant to the city, being derived from the Tokugawa clan crest who used to govern from Mito.
