Along with Sendai the longest away day for Avispa fans finds a relatively small club doing well to keep their J1 status after gaining promotion from J2 in 2008.
Building to a season ending best of 13th in 2010 they are a club who haven’t looked to expensive overseas players to compete in J1 having only a single foreigner going into 2011, the Egyptian striker Elsamni.
Getting their name from Italian words for mountain and God the Mountain Gods go into every J1 season hoping to maintain their status as a J1 club.
