Vegalta Sendai   Leave a comment

Competing with Yamagata as the longest away trip for Avispa, Sendai are another of the clubs in the same position as Avispa of just trying to stay in the top division.
Having spent more time in J2 than in J1 they get among the smallest crowds in J1 but make up for that with an interesting range of songs being sung at matches.
Primarily a selling club they will be hoping to find enough talent from Universities to stay in J1 for another season.

Their odd name is formed by two of the stars from Tanabata celebrations being combined (Vega and Altair).

Based : Sendai, Miyagi.

Stadium : Yurtec Stadium (19694)

Years in J-League 1 : 4 (Highest – 13th 2002)

Years in J-League 2 : 9
