Sanfrecce Hiroshima   Leave a comment

Playing in the white elephant of a World Cup stadium while only getting under 15000 average attendances Sanfrecce have been in J1 for almost it’s entire existence. In this time they have had 2 single season spells in J2.

They won the whole League in 2012, and will be hoping that with this success they can be established as a full heavyweight, rather than a feeder team for some of the bigger clubs in the division.

Their name comes from the Japanese word for 3 and Italian for arrows after the local legend of Mori Motonari.

Based : Hiroshima.

Stadium : Big Arch (50000)

Years in J-League 1 : 16 (Highest 1st 2012)
