Name : Bratislav Punosevac
Position : Striker
DOB : 9 Jul 1989
There aren’t many strikers playing in the J-League who have played in the European Champion’s League, but that is the history which Puni brought to the club having faced Manchester United for his previous Romanian club.
He is our first tall, target man striker since Jumbo and immediately gives us a new option when he comes on the pitch which we don’t have in the other players. Unfortunately it hasn’t really worked out for him so far as he failed to socre a goal in his first half season at the club.
He looks like someone who could be very good at this level once he gets the initial pressure of scoring off his back, and proves to the Japanese players that they have a guy who can score and lead the line.
Despite being a tall guy he is probably better with his feet, and tries to link up play rather than sitting on the back post. As he is now the tallest player on the pitch for many of his games the aerial side of his game needs to be worked on as once routines involving crosses to him at the back post are worked out he could score for fun.
