vs。Montedio Yamagata (youtube)   1 comment

Previously I could only find highlights on nicovideo, but have now got at least something for those people who don’t have an account.

It is recorded from the TV, but you can still see the action and goals.

0:1 Montedio (Nakajima)
A really classy short passing move which cut apart the Avispa defence. No real shame in conceding a goal of this quality, but it did start from too much space in right midfield.

1:1 Avispa (Ishizu)
A very difficult header, falling back away from goal but still getting power on the ball and equalising. A second assist for the season from Omata adding some good attacking skill to his solid defence.

2:1 Avispa (Kanakubo)
A debut goal of real quality. The Monetdio defence was regrouping after being split apart just before this shot, but could do nothing about a curling, dipping shot just inside the post.

There was also a cameo from Pusnik at the end of the game on his home debut as he came across to the crowd and waved a flag and took a scarf to show he seems to be enjoying life at Avispa.

He’d be well advised to keep this up, win, lose or draw, it will be really appreciated by the fans to have a manager who is a little more connected to who they are.
Maeda only came across once all last season after we lost to Mito.

  1. It’s great to relive the goals. We could do nothing to stop the Montedio goal, just marvel at it. The broke us down incredibly. Respect. But that Kanakubo goal was pure class, hopefully he builds on this debut and continues to impose himself on matches.

You’re right, Pusnik does seem to be enjoying in Fukuoka. I’m happy for that. The supporters already seem to have taken a liking liking to him. Hopefully this run of form continues, so they don’t sour on him. If anyone is capable of bringing us back to J1, from the outset at least, it seems like Pusnik is the man for the job.

    Cheers for finding the videos.
