vs. Kochi University, Emperor’s Cup   1 comment

Avispa traveled up to Fukuyama today to play Kochi University in the 2nd Round of the Emperor’s Cup.

It is a game they should’ve been able to win, but didn’t take any chances with playing a near full strength team.

The only changes from the win against Omiya were Makoto Tanaka coming in for Daiki at the back, and Hideya starting instead of Jogo as one of the front 2. Kasagawa got a welcome start as reserve goalkeeper and Hatamoto had his first involvment with the first team squad member being on the bench.

With a strong team they got the win quite easily scoring twice in the first half and once after the break. In addition to getting a few confidence boosting goals it is good to see Nakamachi scoring.

Kochi University 0 – 3 Avispa Fukuoka

14′ Nakamachi, 31′ Matsuura, 64′ Yutaka

Would be nice to see Fukuoka University do a job on Omiya on Monday. Avispa designated player Daisuke Ishizu should be playing after scoring 2 in the last round.

We face Sendai in the next round (Vegalta not SONY after a narrow extra-time win).

  1. Hasn’t Fukuoka done enough to us this year?
