After last weeks disappointing loss it looked likely that the gap at the top was going to be narrowed as JEF were playing Consadole later in the day. It turned out that JEF ended up losing, they have gone totally to pieces since losing their lead at Level 5 stadium and are currently losing 1-0 to Tokyo Verdy.
About 3 months ago I had said that I was worried about Tokyo verdy, and since beating Kashiwa they have been the best team in the division.
Tonight’s game is a Kyushu derby against Oita, who are another team who have been playing very well recently. They had a terrible middle part of the season, but still have the talent to beat anyone in the division on their night.
I’ll say the same as I have for the last 2 weeks in that Avispa should still get the win as they have something to play for, rather than just switching a few places in the middle of the table. Against Tokushima this turned out to be true, against Tochigi it sadly didn’t.
Avispa are rated at 44% for the away win, which is probably too short to put any real money on against a team who were in J1 last season, playing at home and have beaten the best teams in the division in recent weeks, but aren’t stupid odds like those for Tochigi last week.
Oita 0 – 1 Avispa Fukuoka
That man Nakamachi to come good again and give Avispa the vital win. More a prediction out of hope than reality. Avispa need to contain Oita’s Korean players and should then control the game.
