After the great week last week Avispa are left with a straight-forward road to their long awaited return to J1; with 6 games left of the season they can lose 2 and still be guaranteed promotion.
This week they host Tochigi in a match which they should be hoping to comfortably win. Tochigi have somewhat overachieved this season to have held a top 10 place throughout the season, but as with Tokushima last week shouldn’t really have anything to play for.
Against an Avispa team in winning form, and one which knows that another win puts them closer to J1 they should find things difficult.
In the away game Avispa came out winners thanks to a decent goal by Jumbo, and I hope that in his recent run of form, and increased energy in games Avispa have the fulcrum they need to provide too much in attack for Tochigi.
One additional point of interest is that I expect Lee to retain the left back position against the team he signed from having never played a game.
For this game I expect Genki and Yusuke to provide a lot of problems on the wings as too much attention is paid towards Jumbo at the top of attack.
Avispa are heavy favorites at 1.58 (60%), with a draw at 25% and a Tochigi win at just 15% (7.15). At those odds I’d be backing Tochigi as it is well over-priced for a club jst 4 clubs behind in the table, but still expect Avispa to win.
Avispa 2 – 0 Tochigi
I think Genki and Yusuke will have good games and prove too much for Tochigi, but still expect a decent fight from the visitors.
Very optimistic for the victory, but I wouldn’t be as surprised as the bookmakers if it didn’t happen.
